Food, Family, and Fun Stories is a personal narrative writing project that guides students through brainstorming, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing stories inspired by food, family traditions, holidays, and memorable moments.
 
Students pair their personal narratives with family recipes, then combine their work into a one-of-a-kind classroom cookbook. The finished book becomes a keepsake students and families can proudly hold in their hands—and an optional fundraiser for your classroom or school.
 
Designed primarily for students in grades 4–6, this project provides practical, step-by-step support while allowing teachers to adapt the schedule and activities to meet their students’ needs.

The editable cookbook template is already formatted for a 6 × 9-inch paperback and includes built-in Styles, a title page, dedication page, table of contents, category dividers, story pages, and recipe formatting. Teachers can customize the cookbook title, categories, student content, and other details to create a book unique to their class.
 
Advance paid orders can help cover printing costs before books are ordered. Additional cookbook sales can then raise funds for classroom books, supplies, activities, or another school need.
